Kelly Harris is a furniture maker, tool maker, and craft educator living in Kingston, NY. She builds custom furniture and sculptural home goods, and produces a tapered rounding plane for staked furniture and Windsor chair making. Kelly is a graduate of the North Bennet Street School Cabinet and Furniture Making program, where she studied period furniture. Additionally, she holds a BA in political science and gender studies from Hunter College (CUNY). Kelly's work ties together her decades-long experience working in the trades and service industry, with her specialized study of period furniture and critical thought. She makes furniture that is rooted in solid joinery and functionality, while reserving space for playful and nuanced design. Kelly teaches woodworking classes, sells her tools, and exhibits her work nationwide.
